Residential Fire on Orion Path

Shortly after 12:30pm, Moyers Corners was alerted for a reported garage fire on Orion Path, near Virgo Course, in the Station 4 response area.

Car 4 [D/C Eldred] and Engine 21 [PDC Beverly] immediately went enroute after dispatch, and Car 4 indicated there was a significant smoke header that was seen from a distance. Upon arriving, he indicated there was heavy fire conditions from the garage and front door of the structure and struck the Signal 99 (working structure fire), and Engine 21 deployed an attack hoseline into the structure to begin extinguishing the fire and preventing its spread to the rest of the residence.

Truck 2 [FF MacPherson], Engine 31 [FF Meyers], and Ladder 1 [Lt Bailey] all arrived shortly after, and begun their assigned fireground tasks, including laddering the building, searching for occupants, establishing a ventilation hole on the roof, as well as ensuring the fire was completely extinguished by the initial crews.

Engine 32 [Sgt Sparkowski] and Engine 22 [Capt Carroll] also assisted on-scene, as well as mutual aid companies from North Syracuse, Belgium, Solvay, and Liverpool.

Mutual aid coverage was provided by Hinsdale, Clay, and Northwest.

There were no injuries to any civilian or fire service member, and the fire is currently under investigation by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and the Onondaga County Fire Investigation Unit. The American Red Cross, NOVA Ambulance, and the Moyers Corners Fire Police Unit assisted on-scene.
