At 2127 hrs, Moyers Corners was alerted to a reported Residential Fire in Fairway East in the station 4 response area. Multiple callers were reporting heavy smoke and fire from the townhome. The structure was reported to be unoccupied at the time.

BC2 [Batt. Chief Brown] arrived first reporting heavy smoke and flames, immediately declaring a Signal 99 (active/"working" fire).

BC2 established command with assistance from Car 1 [Chief Wisnowski], while Car 2 [Chief Bailey] acted as the Incident Safety Officer.

Truck 2 [FF Beverly] was first due, followed closely by Engine 41 [Past Chief Crispin]. E41 secured a water supply and pulled the first hand line to the structure. Tk2 assisted with this, then began a primary search and secured the utilities.

Engine 21 [Lt Rush] arrived shortly after, pulling the second line to the structure. Engine 11 [Sgt. Hildreth] pulled the 3rd line to the 2nd floor. Engine 31 [Capt. Wilkinson] pulled the 4th line, first addressing the exposures to surrounding residences, and then replacing the initial attack line from E41.

Rescue 3 [Lt. Montague] & Rescue 4 [FF J Whitmore] assisted with various tasks and provided manpower on scene.

Due to the volume of fire, the exposed townhomes, and the high temperature, additional crews were requested to the scene. Those crews were from North Syracuse, Lysander, Baldwinsville [2nd RIT] & Phoenix. Sheriffs Deputies from OCSO, and NOVA Ambulance were also on scene along with EAVES rehab. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident, and the other three attached townhomes were mostly unscathed.

While fires to this extent are a rarity in our community, Moyers Corners expresses our deepest gratitude to not only its own members, but to those of surrounding departments, other public safety agencies, as well as the Onondaga County 911 Center. Because of the dedication and support provided during these tragic events, we are able to respond quickly and get the fire under control to prevent it from spreading and causing any further damage.
