Congratulations to Moyers Corners Fire Department on taking delivery of your new Squad 2.
Built on a Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT platform with an eight foot Knapheide service body. This vehicle serves as an EMS first response and incident support vehicle. Typically carries two to three firefighters and their gear as well as medical supplies and a small assortment of hand tools. This service body makes an excellent fit and each compartment can easily be configured to mount equipment to be easily accessible.
A complete Whelen lighting system was installed on this vehicle, featuring the Legacy DUO series lightbar, 500 series grill lights, and M series lights on the body. Controller by a CenCom Carbide platform allows this vehicle to have effective and dynamic warning configurations and meet the NFPA standards for response and block mode, including turning off all white flashing when in park.
A 2000# Slidemaster tray with a custom aluminum tray was put in the back area, and protected by a custom Downey Products bed cover. For easy access from the rear, the cover flap is simply secured via magnets.
This vehicle will be equipped with an MDT [mobile data terminal] at later date, but to keep everything powered a Kussmaul battery charger, battery saver and auto eject was added. To prevent this vehicle from having a dead battery, a low voltage disconnect was installed which will remove power from equipment like the computer to ensure the vehicle will restart.
For vehicle security, an Intermotive Idle Lock system was added to allow the vehicle to be left running to keep emergency lighting active, but prevent the vehicle from being tampered with or stolen.
Our friends at Vital Signs did an amazing job with the graphics package on this truck.
