The volunteers of Moyers Corners were alerted to a possible structure fire at 11 Grampian Road in the Station 2 response area. Initial reports indicated a fire in the bathroom of an apartment. Prior to arrivial, NYS Troopers and Onondaga County Sheriff Deputies arrived and ensured the occupants were out of the apartment and adjoining apartments. Liverpool Car 2 arrived with smoke showing. Moyers Corners Car 1 [Crispin] took the interior operations, Car 5 [Captain Lyons] took command and Car 2 [S. Zaferakis] to the safety officer position. Engine 21 [Sgt. Orchard] was first due and extinguished the fire above the ceiling in the bathroom. Truck 2 [Lt. Beverly] laddered the building, Engine 41 [Lt. Balcer] had the second handline, Rescue 4 [Captain McGowan] secured building utilities, Ladder 1 [Captain Schweitzer] took RIT, Engine 31 [Past DC Wisely] established a second hydrant and Liverpool Engine 3 stood by at the scene. The fire was extinguished within ten minutes of dispatch. NOVA ambulance transported one civilian to an area hospital for evaluation. The Onondaga County Fire Investigation Unit was on scene to determine the cause.
